I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium edition (SP1). After a Windows Update back in June, I began to get the following "Task Scheduler Engine has stopped working"error pop-up windows. I have since tried to remedy the problem in different ways, but to no avail. I'd prefer not to have to reinstall the OS, but may have to since I haven't been able to find any online help specific to this problem. I can also not perform certain software/application installs now, and have lost access to administrative tools, except when started in Safe Mode.
